Sophie Morgan (19yrs old) is top of the ladies points chart so far this year in the
club and she comes from good stock. Her mother Sue Harris over the past 4 years has
won many British Autograss Championships titles and came 1st in the UK Autograss
championships also.
Her step father Damian Harris has a very successful Autograss career
over the last 4 years, winning the men’s nationals Autograss
Championships, coming 2nd in the British Autograss
Championships and 1st in the UK Autograss Championships.
She told us, “I have been involved in the club since the
age of fourteen. We went to a Radford Autograss club
meeting and found it welcoming, very friendly with good
fast racing. What I enjoy most about our involvement
is the track party’s getting them ready for Sunday and
its good company with a bunch of friendly people at
radford track.
2014 was a good year for me. It was my first year
in front wheel drive and a saloon car. I came second
overall in ladies class one at Radford. I made good
progress throughout the year making UKAC ladies
class one finals.
The key to my success is being determined to do well
and perform to my very best. Every race in the class two
helps me that little bit more, I also have great support from
my family and my step dad helps to get the car to the best
possible standards by developing his own manifold systems.
My plans for 2015 in the class two nova is to win both the club
and the league trophy overall. I would love to make a bas final and
come in the top 4 trophy position at a bas round. My plans for the next 5
years is to be able to make a ladies class two national final and to come in the top 4 trophy points position in the bas overall.”
