The Gateshead-based firm, who sponsor Eagles Captain and leading scorer Charles Smith, raised money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Percy Hedley Foundation at the British Basketball League Playoffs quarter-final game on Friday (24 April). The Friday 21st April match, at Sport Central Northumbria, saw the Esh Group Eagles Newcastle stay in the hunt for a clean sweep of BBL silverware after progressing to the BBL Play-Off Semi Finals for the eleventh consecutive season, overpowering Bristol Flyers 92-80 at Sport Central, to win 176-144 on aggregate. At this stage, the Eagles were already confirmed as BBL Cup and BBL Trophy winners, had just completed the season as League Champions, and were looking to complete a clean sweep with a BBL Playoffs win, which they later achieved To promote the fundraising activity for the two charities, the Eagles visited the Percy Hedley Sports Academy Tuesday 21st April, along with Lady Elsie Robson and representatives from United Carlton.
