ealing trailfinders rufc Ealing Trailfinders RuFC E aling Trailfinders RUFC is a terrific example of a well-run community establishment. On the field they have enjoyed terrific success, winning promotion to the Greene King IPA Championship after a fantastic season. Their Director of Coaching, Ben Ward, took the time to give us an insight into what has behind the club’s success in recent times. Involvement He told us, “I have been here for 11 years now. I was studying at University and the then Director of Rugby Mike Cudmore invited me down to play. The first thing that struck me was the quality of the facilities and the ambition of the club.” The Role “The most rewarding parts of my role are seeing the guys working hard all week and then watching that come off at the weekend. All the studying of the opposition, running moves, handling practice and strength and conditioning sessions are for one thing; to play well at the weekend and earn the result we want. The most challenging thing is not being able to influence matches when you are on the side-line and having to tell players you will not be renewing their contracts.” www.ealingrugby.co.uk- Twitter : @ealingtfrugby www.sportip.biz 61
