weavering warriors rufc Weavering Warriors RUFC W eavering Warriors RUFC is a club achieving fantastic success on the field having secured their league title and promotion. The club have also found themselves a permanent home recently so the future is looking very bright for them. Club Representative Dan Mason took the time to tell us more. Involvement He said, “I’ve now been with the club 7 years having moved to Maidstone with my partner. The fact Weavering was a new small club attracted me. There are two bigger clubs in the area who were very 1st XV orientated and I didn’t want the feeling that you are just a number if you aren’t in the 1st XV. At Weavering everyone has a voice, everyone is important and no one is bigger than the club. It is without doubt a family club.” The Role “I’ve been Club Captain for the past two years (Our club captain and playing captain are one in the same) and although we’ve had two title winning seasons which I’m immensely proud of, I can’t lie that it hasn’t been hard work, especially with us getting our permanent home at the same time too and being on the committee that delivered that. Making sure the players are all in the right place at the right time for training and games is a challenge, as is ensuring what happens off the pitch mirrors what we are doing on it and that the social side of our club continues to deliver what it needs to, rugby alone will no Ё
