hull rufc FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/SPORT_IP we will be in the National 2 or National 3 this next season, the team building will continue and Gary is the man for that. “As with other clubs, youth development is a fundamental priority and we have a good mini/junior section headed up by our Chairman of mini/juniors, Geoff Lound. “Hull RUFC is an inner city club and with many other rugby union clubs as well as rugby league clubs (not to mention Hull City football club, Hull FC and Hull Kingston Rovers) there is a lot of competition around us for attention and support. Having said that, Hull RUFC, are well supported by the local business community, on and off the pitch. “We moved to our new ground about 7 or 8 years ago. Since that time we have re-laid a new pitch and put up a new stand and changing rooms. The YPI at Chanterlands Avenue has great facilities and the clubhouse caters for our members at ground floor level with a dedicated sponsor’s lounge and viewing balcony at first floor level. Visitors to the ground are generally impressed with the whole set up. “We have also had a ladies rugby team for the last 10 years or so and the girls have had a relatively good season. “The biggest challenge for us is always the generation of income to keep the club in the position it is in and the need to find new sponsors all the time is paramount. If we cannot find the money then we cannot afford to operate at the level we currently are at. 48 Issue 07
