There has to be that environment where
players want to turn up to training, work hard
and get things right.
We’re very lucky to have some top players,
coaches and facilities but at the end of the day
it’s important to have every one enjoying what
we are doing. As long as we can retain a sense
of direction and enjoyment, then I believe that
we’ll continue to progress.
Of course, over the coming years we want to
be winning matches and working through
the leagues but we can only control the
controllables. As long as we have the right
processes in place, off the field as well as on it,
then we’ll be happy.”
Whilst the on the field achievements of Old
Elthamians are nothing short of astounding,
the fact that they have done it whilst retaining
the traditional values that make the game of
Rugby so unique makes this a truly special
example of how to run a successful club.
With the ambition running through the club
at present, there promises to be plenty more
success for their followers to celebrate in the
coming years.
