It is a Grade 1 dual code track and is a left-handed, oval shaped course of one mile six furlongs in circumference. There is also a straight course which allows for races of up to one mile to be run on the flat. It is a galloping course in character with a steady climb from the turn into the straight ensuring that it is a testing one to compete on. It is vital for horses looking to be successful to be able to see the distance out. It promises to be a terrific summer of racing with the Betfred Northumberland Plate 3 Day Festival calendar in June, the Collingwood Insurance Beeswing Ladies Day in July and The StanJames. com Fighting Fifth Hurdle in November 14 Issue 07 as well as a number of themed racedays throughout the year. Aside from those already mentioned, other highlights include the Eider Chase, St Patrick’s & Grand National Raceday and the Blaydon Races.
