tain golf club about the club. To celebrate our 125th Anniversary we are having an Old Tom Morris golf day where we plan to play the course as it was originally in 1890. We are also holding an Anniversary Golf Day where we will be inviting guests etc. from other clubs. Our Vice president has written a book about the history of the club and we are hoping to have anniversary labelled whisky and gin. Hopefully we will have a visit from the Ryder Cup also. Youth development is very important to us. We offer free lessons and have a special membership fee for 18–25 year olds that don’t already qualify for Student or Apprentice rates. The youth members have full rights (including voting). One of our biggest challenges over the coming years will be falling membership and reduced green fee income is a possible but hopefully not. Marketing the club is our biggest aim at the moment. We want to keep trying to attract more members and visitors to the club whilst retaining the quality staff in place at the moment and increase numbers playing in competitions. We’re also looking to improve practise ground facilities and areas of the clubhouse and course as finances allow. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at Tain Golf Club; we welcome visitors throughout the year (same green fee for weekends as weekdays). There are special rates for party bookings and twilight rates for delightful rounds in the late afternoon where you can enjoy the bright Scottish evenings.
