Based at Tyne Green, Hexham in Northumberland the course itself measures at around 5400 yards and is relatively short which is reflected by its par being 67. This allows people to enjoy a round of golf without having to worry about a particularly high level of physical exertion. It is a pleasant and picturesque 9 hole parkland course on the banks of the River Tyne which is virtually flat with trees lining the course. There are 18 tees marked for those looking to play a full round of golf and a number of par threes and cleverly positioned bunkers ensure that golfers of any ability will face plenty of challenges if they wish to score well. With some breath-taking scenery to take in whilst playing the course it is sure to be a round that is enjoyed. One of the things that helps to make the course so enjoyable is the superb work done maintaining the course, particularly during wet weather which ensures the course is always at the best level possible. The greens are kept in excellent condition which is a credit to the hard work that the green keepers put in to complement their expertise. All of this serves to ensure that any visitors are given the best experience possible. On completion of the round, golfers also have the option of taking advantage of the licensed club house to relax and talk over their rounds. They are always sure to enjoy a warm and friendly welcome in a pleasant atmosphere. In addition to this they also provide meals which are excellent value for money. This obviously helps to improve the experience of visiting golfers and also has the potential to provide the club 40 Issue 05 with a valuable source of additional revenue which is particularly important in the current economic climate.
