oughton-Le-Spring Golf Club is a parkland course set in County
Durham that prides itself on giving visitors a warm welcome.
Club Representative Ann Young took the time to tell us more
about some of the fantastic work they’ve been doing lately.
2014
She told us, “2014 has been a
really good year for the club with
the weather being very kind and
this has helped to keep the course
and greens in superb condition
which brings out large numbers
of players, both members and
visitors. I believe the course has
been in the best condition ever
during 2014 with numerous
compliments and positive feedback
being regularly received during the
season from members, visitors and
golfing bodies that have visited or
organised events at the club.”
Atmosphere
“The club mood is very upbeat
at the moment with members
anticipating another good season
around the corner with excellent
weather and continued hard work
and improvements on the course
by the greens staff. There are a
number of fairly new competitions
scheduled as well as a number of
regular popular competitions and
members are keen to get the season
underway.
We have a very strong mixed
section within the club which
seems to go from strength to
strength each season and we also
have a good social side to the club
which is enjoyed by both golfers
and non-golfing members and their
families.”
