burnage rfc reverse, an outdoor activity centre rent space taking young people canoeing on the Mersey running directly behind the club.” Challenges/Ambitions “Financial stability for me is our main challenge. The teams can go up and down in the leagues but the club has to stay solvent to provide facilities. Since the introduction of professionalism too many clubs have gone bankrupt. There are plenty of people who will help spend money but not so many who help make it. We need to continue our progress over the next few years by improving our facilities, increasing income streams, supporting players in areas such as good quality coaches and physiotherapists and developing the junior section. It will also be important to get the younger element of the club involved in volunteering, committee work and generally taking over the running of their club to keep it young and vibrant. Our aim is to prove first class facilities for all members whilst retaining the rugby ethos of the club.” www.pitchero.com/clubs/burnage- Twitter : @burnagerugby www.sportip.biz 25
