ocated in the Grampian region of Scotland, Inverurie Golf Club offers an 18 hole parklands course combining
ancient antiquity with modern conveniences to give golfers a truly unique experience. It is a 5564 yard, par 69 course
that has a back 9 ni ne which differs greatly from the first half of the course.
It was first established on the 16th January
1923 and provides membership for
playing, social and corporate
members. In total they
have in excess of 650
golfing members
and
work
hard
to
ensure
that
all
visitors feel welcomed and are able to enjoy
their time at the club.
With natural attractions, including roe
deer, woodpeckers and buzzards as well
as panoramic views of Uryside, Keithhall
Estate and Inverurie itself adding to the
round the course is a pleasure to play on.
It has undergone numerous changes over
the years to ensure that it is the best that
it can be.
The first 9 was constructed on open
parkland and has wide fairways and can
be a comfortable beginning for golfers.
They would be wise not to be lulled into a
false sense of security however as the back
9 steps up the difficulty level significantly.
With narrow gorse and tree lined
fairways, any errant shots suddenly can
cause huge problems for players and
although there are no water features,
good bunkering and some tricky
greens ensure that this is course that
is pleasant to play on but difficult to
master.
It becomes vital to play with
accuracy through the short holes
at the turn before heading into a
tough finish through holes 14 to
18. If players are not at the top of
their game they have the potential
to undo any good work that they
have done as thoughts turn towards
the 19th hole.
Their modern clubhouse provides a
fine base after any round, be it good
or bad, providing players with a warm
welcome in a friendly and relaxed
atmosphere to round off the day. The
clubhouse is attractively designed on two
levels with a very pleasant outdoor veranda
overlooking the first and eighteenth holes.
