This scheme made use of a dilapidated playground site in one
of London’s most deprived areas. A number of organisations
came together to fund the project and a great deal of public
consultation took place to ensure the correct track design. The track
one of the largest in the UK and Ground Control
were appointed as the principle contractor for the project.
Following site clearance, testing took place of 4300m³ of material
that was contaminated with asbestos. This was followed
installation of extensive site drainage and connection to water
electrical supplies. The site then could start taking shape and
finished project comprised:

Supply
and
installation
of
gabion
basket
utilising recycled material from the site
• Supply and installation of bespoke modular container units
• Installation of flood lighting and CCTV
• Installation of all pathways, access roads and event areas
• Installation of fencing, steelwork, topsoil and turfing
seeding areas.
