S
ince 1972 leading landscape and civil engineering contractors have understood the value of
attaining full contracting status with The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI).
The value of employing BALI accredited contractors is also widely recognised by many businesses, local
authorities and government departments and agencies; as more often BALI membership is requested on
tender documents.
This value cannot be over stated, as full contracting
members go through a rigorous vetting process that includes
examination of finances, business policies and processes,
health and safety awareness, customer service and of
course, ensuring high standards of workmanship are being
maintained. This is in addition to a whole range of other
expected competencies. The vetting process goes beyond
that of other accreditations, which often only look at specific
sections of the businesses activities. This ensures that only
contractors with the ability to serve clients at the highest
level achieve full membership status.
BALI has a number of contracting members that either
specialise in or regularly undertake sports ground
construction, modification or improvement and below are a
few case studies from award winning sports facility schemes
that have recently been completed.
