Bridlington
to Scarborough
174km
Due to start in Bridlington, the first stage will be one
for the purists as riders from all over the world will
pass through some spectacular coastal scenery as well
as the iconic North York Moors landscapes.
The route will head along the Flamborough Head
Heritage Coast before heading through Dalby
Forest and towards Pickering. This will be
followed by the journey back to the coast at
Whitby and then south to Robin Hood’s
Bay, culminating in a race to the
finish line on the sea front at
Scarborough.
The Tour de Yorkshire is set to
run this year between the 1st
and 3rd of May and promises to
be a spectacular event. Sport in
Profile Magazine takes a look
at the format of the event and
how you can get involved.

Selby to York
174km
The second stage will be one for the sprinters,
starting in front of Selby Abbey before going on to
pass through the Yorkshire Wolds. From Selby it will
take the peloton towards Market Weighton before
going on to Beverley, Malton and Stamford Bridge.
It should be a great day for the spectators as well
with those who turn out getting to see a circuit of
York and a dramatic finish expected. As part of
the plan to get more women involved there
will also be a dedicated women’s event as
part of this stage.
