BRITISH SKiing & SNowbaording SKI GO BOARD (www.goskigoboard.org. uk), which gives cost effective ways to try the sport at a local slope. The campaign will continue throughout this winter season and into next summer.” Atmosphere “All our British athletes are now out on the international circuit in all disciplines – Alpine skiing, Park and Pipe, Ski and Snowboard Cross, Cross Country, Moguls, Aerials and Telemark. In all disciplines we have seen great success already this season – most notably the best ever finish for an Alpine athlete in a World Cup for nearly 5 years when Dave Ryding finished 17th in the Slalom in Are in December, the best ever finish for a British Cross Country skier in a World Cup from Andrew Musgrave and some world class performances from our Park and Pipe athletes. So the mood is generally very good!” Challenges “We are always looking for more financial support, and athlete funding is always a challenge. Despite funding for some athletes from UK Sport and from key sponsors, more money will help our athletes receive even more support and in turn this should positively impact performances. Injuries are also another challenge in snowsports. All snowsport disciplines are hugely physically demanding and as with most sports, injuries do happen. We hope, however, that these will be few and far between!” Ambitions “Capitalising on the success of Sochi 2014 and great World Cup results already this season, we are now looking forward to the next four years where we hope to challenge for even more medals, with the ultimate aim of podium success at PyeongChang 2018. With huge potential coming in from our young athletes across all of our disciplines, British Ski and Snowboard is working hard to give them the best opportunities for success. We have many young athletes with very promising futures. We are aiming for podiums at PyeongChang 2018, but we are also looking towards the next four year cycle and even mo re success in the long term.” For more information visit www.teambss.org.uk Glide Tape ax ? w ti Wh yO p The perfect pleasure of skiing can only be reached with an excellent glide.
