The main aim of this is to grow levels of sustainable basketball participation in Tyne and Wear and South East Northumberland, predominantly through the following programmes of activity: •The Eagles Hoops 4 Health Primary Schools programme – 120 primary schools per academic year •The ECF Club Development Scheme •The Eagles Central Venue Basketball League •Eagles School of Excellence •Eagles Tyne Met College Academy •Eagles Gateshead College Academy •Eagles Team Northumbria Elite Programmes Ambitions “Over the coming years more of the same would be excellent and we want to maintain our standards. What I’d love to have and this is in no way a disrespect to the excellent working relationship we have with Northumbria University is our own purpose built facility. That’s a huge goal and driver and we’re some of the way there already. With such a facility we can achieve so much more and continue to grow and that’ll breed success on and off the court as we go forward. I’ve outlined what we do and how we do it. Our own facility would enable us to sustain that and open so many more doors of opportunity. On the playing side at senior level I’d love to see us play and be successful in European competitions. No British Club has really succeeded in being successful in Europe and I’d love us to be the first to do that. We keep talking about it and keep making steps towards it. It’s a big undertaking but one I’d love to take as long as we can sustain what we have domestically and not jeopardise that. Again, our own facility would help that enormously.” www.sportip.biz www.newcastle-eagles.com - Twitter : @NewcastleEagle 23 www.sportip.biz 23
