PROUDLY SUPPORTING COVENTRY BUILDBASE BEES
Buildbase proudly supports a selection of local and UK teams across British Superbikes, Motocross, Hull KR and
Speedway.
They continued to support Coventry Speedway as their main sponsors in 2014 with the team being known as the
Buildbase Bees, competing in the British Elite league of speedway competition.
The continuing sponsorship by the Builders Merchant is one of the longest running sponsorships in the sport.
Buildbase first linked up with the Bees in 2004 and the club are hugely grateful for the continuing support received
from Stephen Thompstone (Managing Director] and John Clarke (Regional Director) of Buildbase.
Under the Buildbase Bees name during the last ten years, the club have won three Elite league championships, two
K.O cup titles, two Craven Shield titles, two Elite league pairs championships and one Elite shield competition.
Speaking when it was announced that Buildbase would continue t support the side in 2014, Clarke said, “We are
delighted to be back with the Buildbase Bees again in 2014 and look forward to bringing many of our customers to
the meetings again during the season which runs from March until October each year.
Over the last ten years, we have introduced many customers and their family to the sport for the first time and it is
great that they not only enjoy the evening but want to come back again and again.”
This thrill a minute sport involves 15 heats with 4 riders in each heat racing around a shale track of approx 300 metres
for four laps on 500cc motorcyles that have no brakes on them and accelerate from 0 – 60mph in two and a half
seconds.
