Our first team are not quite firing on all cylinders, but apart from that I would say everyone feels the glass is half full and we are gradually building something here at Wagon Lane.” Youth “Youth development is absolutely vital. Unfortunately we don’t have an Under 19s team this season, but in 2014 we have already fielded a number of teenagers in our first team and we believe we have four or five boys playing in our Under 17s who will start to press for second team places almost as soon as they are old enough. The younger age groups, the sevens, eights and nines have great numbers every week and it is great to see so many little smiling faces on a Sunday morning.” Integration “Being honest I don’t think we have integrated young players into the senior section well recently, but we have two first team players, Adam Wellington and James Morton involved with the U17s on a weekly basis; Second team coach, Alastair Macdonald, is now getting involved and we will be having joint sessions with the lads who are over 17 and the Second team after Christmas.
