Based at the Surrey Sports Club at the University of Surrey on Richard Meyjes Road, Surrey
Storm is a terrific example of what a club can achieve with a good set up. Competing in the
Superleague last season they put together a superb campaign, compiling a league record of
12 wins and 2 draws they finished at the top of the table with 38 points.
Coach Tamsin Greenway took the time to
speak with Sport in Profile Magazine ahead
of the 2015 campaign. She told us, “The
mood here at the moment is really good.
We’ve got a long squad with 21 girls and
we’ve got to pick the final squad of 15 to go
into the season by the end of November. It’s
good– we’ve got a nice mix of experience
and youth and have brought a few new
players in. We’re looking forwards to getting
back into competition now.
Last season was a strange one because
it has probably been our most successful
season with going unbeaten all year up
until the final. Obviously we’d have loved
to claim the final piece of silverware at the
end but you can’t knock the performance
from the girls. It was a pretty incredible year
even though we were disappointed to not
come away with the final win.
We’re not looking for many changes this
year. We’ve picked up England Captain
Pamela Cookey which is a great signing.
One of the most important things for us
is that we are a happy group with a really
good team environment so there will be no
major changes.
Our targets with the way the league works
are to get into the top 4 and make the playoffs. You’ve always got a chance to win the
title if we can do that. When you’re losing
by one goal in the final we’re just looking for
the little things that will make the difference.

Storm Netball team. First announced back in June of this year, the
activation today gives Storm fans some fantastic opportunities.

will further enhance the Surrey Storm strategy of bringing more
