WORLD BOG SNORKELLING CHAMPIONSHIPS Ahead of the championships the mood was optimistic (good weather reports) and excitement for the day, and the hope that a new world record might be set. I was hoping it would all go smoothly, and that our new sponsors: Hoopers, would be happy, it did and they were! It’s very much a community event with local land owners allowing us access to land for the triathlon and bog snorkelling, with people of different ages and backgrounds helping to marshal the events over 2 days. The town playing fields become the campsite and local pubs provide musical entertainment for all. It would be good to perhaps introduce a 3 events pass or create a Bogpentathlon with a special prize for the highest scores in all five events. I’m sure there are many more bog-related games to come....” 46 ISSUE 02 BUILTH WELLS GOLF CLUB Stunning 18 hole parkland golf course in the picturesque Mid Wales countryside “Once played never forgotten” VISITING GOLFERS & SOCIETIES WELCOME (Including Weekends) SOCIETY PACKAGES AVAILABLE NEW MEMBERS WELCOME For more details contact our PGA Professional & Secretary: Simon Edwards, Builth Wells Golf Club, Golf Links Road, Builth Wells, Powys.
