BIRCH GROVE
So long as they are able to retain their current group of
players and perhaps make one or two quality additions
they should be in for more success in the coming
year. The early signs have certainly been positive as
they have managed to rack up 3 wins from their first 3
fixtures.
Their most recent victory came in their first home fixture
as they defeated Baglan by 50 points to 17 to claim a
bonus point along with the win. They will be keen to
use the momentum that they’ve created as a catalyst to
go on and mount a serious challenge at the top of the
table.
Birchgrove is not a team to focus solely upon their
senior section however as they also run a youth side.
This team looks to provide young players from the local
area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and
enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach
their full potential.
It is important for any club to be able to produce their
own talent, particularly in the current financial climate
and this is an area that they appear to have covered.
It will certainly be exciting to see how their youngsters
are able to develop over the coming years.
Birchgrove is a club that is achieving plenty of success
on the field and this has not happened by chance.
Their team benefits from the outstanding structure their
Committee has put in place which should allow the
club to look forwards to a bright and successful future.
Everyone at Sport in Profile Magazine would like to
wish them the best of luck.
