actively promoted the club where they can.
Thanks to a recent grant application, in September, we
will add the Paralympic version of rugby also known as
Murderball. This will make Liverpool Lions WRC the
only club in the World to offer all Versions of the Sport.”
The Role
“The most Challenging aspect can be not having all
players turn up at training. A challenge will be the
constant looking for money pots to keep the club
sustainable. With Hall hire costs, running repairs to
the Wheelchairs and then travel costs to games, all
this needs money. We have done very well with Grant
applications recently, but we can never sit back on our
laurels.
The most rewarding part of my role is to get a new
player in the squad and to see their potential. Then
with encouragement and bringing them “under my
wing”, watching them grow and develop as a player is a
great feeling. We have had players arrive in the past, to
develop very fast and go on to represent their county in
the 2013 Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup.”
