What we are doing

Preventing harm

The essence of our model is the idea that lots of small interventions add up to an effective preventative measure .
No single intervention is perfect , but multiple layers improve success .
So , in relation to how we prevent workforce-related harm , the interventions that are made should all be done in a way that isn ’ t going to increase the burden on coaches .
The goal is to introduce numerous checkpoints that will feel like a light touch , not introduce a few insurmountable hurdles .
For instance , a multi-skills coach may have to take four sets of DBS checks ( one massive hurdle in its own right ) with four different NGBs . However , this approach can be counterproductive . The individuals you want to attract to your system may be deterred by such extensive requirements , while those you wish to exclude may find ways to circumvent these checks . Therefore , this approach not only fails to achieve its intended purpose but also creates an unnecessary barrier to entry .
