The Cat Owner
by Lily Laskowski
One rainy and cloudy night my mom and I were heading back from the grocery
store. It was only 6:00, but from all the clouds blocking the the sky it looked about
8:00. We saw this big box on the side of the road. It wasn’t supposed to be there
and it might cause trouble if we didn't get it, we thought. So we pulled over and
got the box and looked what was in it. There were two grown cats in there! We
didn’t want to just leave them there because they were animals and they could get
hurts, so we took them with us. Our mom said we could not keep both of them because we already had enough animals. We could, however, keep one.
My brother and I chose which one we wanted and gave the other one to
my mom's friend. Right from the start we noticed our cat being strange. My mom
called her friend to see if her cat was acting up, but she had no problems with it.
Our cats eyes were turning from blue to red and kept going when someone was
petting it, this freaked me out a little. I told my brother this and he believed me,
which was surprising. He had seen it before too, so that so that is probably why.
My mom might not believe us though. My brother and I had to find out
what was wrong with our cat. We needed to find out who had out who had the cat
first. I was petting him and under his thick fluffy fur was a coller. It read “ Owner:
Max” it also said “address: 701 main st. Evansville, WI.” I was really happy to see
this. We lived near the house but we didn’t know who lived there. My brother
made plans with me to go to this guys house sometime.
