Beatrice is a young lady who is fairly well known in the small town of Messina, Italy. We have heard a lot about the drama and events that have been taking place lately. So we sat down with the fair lady Beatrice herself to find out what was really going on.
Interviewer: So Beatrice tell us a little about you personally and your life here in Messina.
Beatrice: Well, I’m sure you already know that I am the cousin of Hero, who is the daughter of Leonato. I have lived here in Messina for as long as I can remember. Messina is a fairly small town so we rarely have much to do. Recently, the soldiers have come back from war so that has provided some excitement to our town. Unfortunately, that fool of a man Benedick has arrived with them.
Interviewer: Speaking of Benedick, what is your relationship like?
Beatrice: I would hardly call it a relationship! I barely even tolerate him. Why, he’s the Prince’s fool, and a very dull fool at that. He only has the talent for coming up with outrageous defamations. Nobody decent enjoys his company, and those who hang around him do not even like him for who he really is.
