Exclusive Interview With Jason Paul
I asked Professional Freerunner Jason Paul some questions about the upcoming Art Of Motion and freerunning in general
What is it like to be a profesional freerunner?
I spend some time of my day doing Freerunning and a big part of my day keeping the business side of things going. Replying to e-mails, working on creative projects, shooting and editing video content for Social Media. A big part of it is creating the media that will then get me hired for jobs. About twice a month I will be booked to do a project with a brand. This usually involves travel and multiple days of work.
What is the best part of being a professional freerunner?
Being able to build my own lifestyle, work and travel.
How has freerunning changed your life?
In every way imaginable. Like sports do for many teenagers it ' s had a huge part in building my personality. It was the reason for me to build a strong body, to learn how to overcome my fears, work hard and set the right goals. This has transcended into who I am as a person and how I life my life.
What do you think is the real purpose of art of motion?
Create an awesome event for the sport, that builds is culture, while promoting RedBull.
Why have you not been competing these past years?
I ' m more excited about making video-projects. I ' ve won the AOM and other contests many times and working my ass off for 6months to do it again doesn ' t excite me as much as working my ass off for a video-project or clothing release.
Do you think winning the art of motion is important?
Not to me.
What is the best part of the art of motion?
That it brings out the worlds best freerunners to the most epic spot in the world. In short, lots of fun with good friends.
Why did you get into freerunning?
I just know that I saw it and something inside me said " That ' s what i want to do ". I followed that feeling.
