REVIEW / THE NEW 52: FUTURES END
Not a bad plot, actually, in spite of some of
the liberal borrowing from other stories. One
thing to bear in mind though is that because this
is a free comic, it's more of an extended ad for
issue #1 of Futures End compiled in an anthology
format with various artists contributing pages,
ranging from Green Lantern legendary artist
Ethan van Sciver to Dan Jurgens, but surprisingly
lacking Dustin Nguyen (pretty much THE
Batman: Beyond artist). This means that the art
was generally good, but the story felt very mishmashed and rushed from one scene of violence
to another. The wanton adverts for various DC
things also keeps breaking up the flow of the
narrative, making the book quite disjointed and
difficult to follow, but it really is just an intro into
the new title, so it can't be judged too harshly.
As far as impressions go, though, I was left
wanting. I'm a MASSIVE fanboy of Terry and it
pleased me no end seeing such a great character
being brought into mainstream DC, but the

rather unoriginal initial premise of the tale just
had me thinking of really great stories that came
before it. I am interested to see where this goes
