SPLICED Issue 04\r\n\r\nTechnology and gadget reviews\r\n\r\nISSUE 04\r\n\r\nGadgets, Glorious Gadgets\r\nStuff we had lying around. It\'s a tough job, but somebody has to do it.\r\nby Amanda Stone\r\n\r\nSamsung Galaxy S5\r\nThe Samsung Galaxy S5 has upped the ante\r\nin the ‘practical features” department. With a\r\nscreen measuring in at 5.1 inches, a 2800mAh\r\nbattery and expandable memory of up to\r\n128GB, it’s fair to say that Samsung has gone\r\nbigger. The phone features a 16 megapixel\r\ncamera coupled with a user friendly\r\ninterface which allows users to take, edit\r\nand share photos quickly and simply. The\r\ncamera also offers the fastest auto-focus\r\nspeed known to camera phones (at this\r\npoint). The personal fitness tracker on\r\nthe S5 helps users better understand\r\ntheir general health and fitness, as\r\nwell as make the necessary changes.\r\nBut perhaps most impressive? The\r\nS5 is water and dust resistant,\r\nwhich now makes this this phone\r\na viable option for every clumsy\r\nperson in the market for a phone\r\n(so basically, most of us). Users\r\ncan now also lock their phone\r\nand make payments with their\r\nfingerprint, by means of a\r\nfingerprint scanner. And the\r\nUltra Power Saving Mode shuts\r\ndown all non-essential features to ensure\r\nusers can make or take calls and messages on\r\nlimited power when they can’t afford not to.\r\nRecommended retail price / TBC\r\nAvailable from /TBC\r\n\r\n10\r\n\r\n
