GTA V
GTA is back with a vengeance, and that vengeance is good.

GTA V is set in contemporary times,
resplendent with all the woes, foibles, tropes
and downright silliness that our modern society
has brought us. We are a civilisation ensconced
in social networking and the superficial pursuit
of material satisfaction and wealth. We've
substituted friendships and family with instant
messaging and tweeting and shamelessly flaunt
selfies in an ever-increasing desperate pursuit to
be noticed, to get attention in any way, shape or
form. We are the era of the YouTube celebrity,

of their post-ironic t-shirts and pretentious
scooter-riding. I also had a lovely 3-hour long
game of tennis.
Almost every critic is hailing GTA V as an
almost perfect game. Regardless of whether or
not you agree, one thing that can't be denied is
that this game is a phenomenon, transcendent
of the genre that was practically invented by this
franchise in the first place.
