What this means for us, the
ever-excitable cinema audience, is
that we’ve got another movie full
of thunderous action, incredible
visuals and goosebump-inducing
cinematic moments to giddily
look forward to. Or that’s the plan
anyway. Kenneth Branagh – director
of the original film – is not involved
in the project. The directorial mantle
has been passed on to Alan Taylor, a
relative newcomer to film. His past
movie credits are Palookaville, Kill
the Poor and The Emperor’s New
Clothes – none of which scream
blockbuster by any stretch of the
imagination. Taylor has extensive
experience in television, however,
having served as director on an
impressive stable of excellent TV
shows like Mad Men, Deadwood,
The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and
Game of Thrones.
