WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
(or why the Beatles were right in saying All You Need Is Love)

Last August 28, 2013 at CTC 118, the first Formations General Assembly was held with one thought in mind: to be able to show just what it means to be a SPEPLE. And if you weren’t there, here’s what you missed: The GA started off with a short group dynamics activity to break the ice. Members had fun working in pairs and trying to combine different scenarios together, resulting in some amusing skits. After the GD, the main portion of the program started. A talk was given by Sir Agustin Rodriguez (or more fondly known as Doc Gus or Sir Gus), the chairperson of the Department of Philosophy. Sir Gus began his talk by sharing his experience of when he thought his son had ADHD and how it led to his effort to read up on all sorts of books about it. In the end, it turned out his son did not have the condition but nonetheless, he did manage to take away a few lessons from that experience, lessons which he shared with the members of SPEED who were present that day. It all boils down to one four-letter word: love. “Ang baduy, diba, love? Pero totoo.” According to him, love is what causes people with special needs to find their potential and that it should be our goal as SPeple to help the kids discover this
