For Amanda Spears Harper, homeownership represents more than a financial milestone— it’ s deeply personal. Growing up in a military family, her father’ s Army service meant frequent moves and renting. Her family didn’ t purchase their first home until she was 17.“ I came to truly value what it means to have a place that’ s yours,” Amanda says. That experience now fuels her passion for helping others achieve the same dream— especially those who may not believe homeownership or real estate investment is possible for them.
Amanda’ s own difficult homebuying experience sparked her interest in real estate.“ I knew there had to be a better way,” she explains.“ I wanted to be the kind of agent I wished I had— one who educates, sets realistic expectations, and helps clients plan for long-term success.” She takes a coaching approach, guiding her clients with honesty, preparation, and a focus on confident decision-making.
The Baldwin County market is currently showing steady growth, according to Baldwin REALTORS ®. In March 2025 alone, nearly 1,200 new listings hit the market— a 10 % increase year-overyear. Residential sales revenue is up, and the resort market continues to thrive with higher prices and more closed sales. However, listings are staying on the market longer, which Amanda says reflects buyers taking more time before making decisions.
Her advice? Sellers should keep their homes clean, updated, and well-maintained to stay competitive.“ Buyers today are informed. Homes that show well attract stronger offers, while outdated homes often linger on the market,” she says. For buyers, Amanda notes that increased inventory offers opportunity— but prices are still rising, so waiting could cost more in the long run. Amanda finds fulfillment living and working along the Gulf Coast. She loves the charm of Daphne and Fairhope, the region’ s rich history, and the beauty of the water.“ Whether it’ s boating on the bay or watching the area grow— like with the new Novelis aluminum plant in Bay Minette— there’ s so much to be excited about,” she says.“ This is more than just a great place to live— it’ s a place filled with opportunity.”
