Now, I’ m intimately familiar with Mile Marker 158. After discovering the place, I ended up working in that kitchen for nearly 3 years. I’ ve watched the menu there grow and evolve to a state where, honestly, just about anything you pick will be delicious. That doesn’ t mean that I don’ t have my favorites.
Starting with the Beef Tip Truffle Sacchetti. It’ s a decadent dish combining their marinated beef tips with a ricotta and truffle-filled pasta in a mushroom and onion wine cream sauce. It was a staple of my diet long before I ever worked there and remains one of my all-time favorite meals to this day.
The Shrimp-Cargot is one of those appetizers that just hits all my buttons. It utilizes local seafood, has a firm, yet gooey mouthfeel, and is loaded with garlic, butter, and cheese. I remember when Chef Tim made the test plate for it, and everyone immediately decided it was going on the menu.
You really can’ t go wrong with whatever you choose. They have something everyone is going to like, from sandwiches to seafood to pasta to steaks. Plus, the view of the Intracoastal and Wharf Marina is awesome. It’ s not uncommon to see dolphins playing in the water.
It’ s definitely worth stopping in if you’ re in The Wharf.
