The City of Orange Beach hosted its first-ever Pop-Up Park & Block Party at Marjorie Snook Park, located behind City Hall. The free community event aimed to spotlight underutilized green spaces and bring neighbors together for a night of summer fun.
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as The Funky Lampshades entertained the crowd with lively tunes, while guests lounged on lawn chairs and picnic blankets. The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber kept everyone refreshed with beverages for all ages, and the Sugar Love food truck served up tasty dinner options.
One of the evening’ s highlights was the first annual hot dog eating competition, open to participants 18 and older. The contest, held during intermission, crowned one grand prize winner who took home a bundle of prizes— including a free one-year membership to the Orange Beach Fitness Center— and plenty of bragging rights.
Families enjoyed extended hours at the Orange Beach History Museum, and kids had a blast cooling off thanks to a waterfeature inflatable and a water spray provided by the Orange Beach Fire Department.
