One of his most memorable Flora-Bama friendships was with Alabama football legend Kenny Stabler.“ The Snake and I used to close the place down,” Hicks said with a grin.“ We’ d sit at the corner by the jukebox and just talk. One night he looked at me and said,‘ You know what we share? Coach Bryant used to say we didn’ t have any goin’ home sense.’ I’ ve carried that line with me ever since.”
