ROTARY
Rotarians from across South Alabama gathered in Orange Beach for the Rotary District 6880 Annual Conference. Held at the Hampton Inn & Suites on the beach, the event blended fellowship, leadership training, and celebration of service. District Governor Mike Sledge— dressed to impress in his pink flamingo suit, led a powerful presentation on the Purple Pinkie Polio Initiative, which includes the popular Purple Pinkie Donut fundraiser supporting Rotary’ s global mission to end polio. The weekend was emceed by Penny Hughey of the Rotary Club of Gulf Shores / Orange Beach, with fellow club member Angela Malick delivering a keynote address focused on elevating Rotary’ s public image and community impact in a digital world. With breakout sessions, inspiring speakers, and beachside camaraderie, the conference left attendees energized and ready to serve.
