SAMVID Launch
Research and Publications committee launched its first issue of a management journal
initiative, 'SAMVID' on July 5, 2012. The initiative's mission is to expand the body of
management research performed at SPJIMR and publish the most relevant among them to
promote and encourage a healthy discussion in the academia as well as in the business.
EXPERENTIA '12
DOCC committee conducted the event 'Experentia' over a period of 2
days – 26th and 27th Oct. On the first day, i.e., 26th Oct, SPJIMR
participants visited the NGO 'Yusuf Meherally Centre', located in Tara
village, Raigad district. The participants worked in groups on 6 themes Cottage Industries, Education Sector, NGO's & Panchayati Raj, Rural
Development, Health & Gender from a rural perspective, and Gandhian
Economics. On the second day of Experentia '12, i.e., 27th Oct, the
participants learned management principles through a social enterprise
- 'Om Creations', an NGO for mentally challenged children/youth.
Intra College Table Tennis Competition
Sports committee organised an intra-college Table tennis competition for
the PGDM participants in September 2012. The competition received a
great response from the batch.
Connecting with Rashmi Bansal
Rashmi Bansal, the author of 'Stay Hungry Stay Foolish', 'Connect the
Dots' and other such bestselling books on entrepreneurship, enriched the
PGDM participants by sharing her real life experience in a guest lecture
organised by the Entrepreneurship Committee.
Independence Day Celebrations
India celebrated its 66th Independence Day on August 15, 2012. The day
was celebrated with vibrancy and panache. The Auditorium, draped in tricolor banners, was throbbing with the patriotism and pride evoked by the
multiple stage performances by the participants.
The student community came forth in large numbers to contribute to the
