JANICE ANNE FARRAY hails from the vibrant village of Birch Grove , St . Andrew ’ s , Grenada . She attended St . Matthew ’ s R . C . School and St . Joseph ’ s Convent ( Grenville ) before migrating to Canada .
Janice holds a BA ( HRM ) from Concordia University ( 1990 ). She is a community organizer , writer and poet . In the 1980 ’ s , she attended the Black Writers of Canada Association Conference in Orillia , Ontario , with other prominent writers . In earlier years , she provided job search workshops at SHADD Business Centre and NDG Black Community Association . She facilitated poetry writing workshops at QBBE ’ s BANA Summer Camp and Elizabeth House .
As HR Advisor , she helped several to secure employment at McGill . While at the Faculty of Education , as Assistant to the Dean / HR Advisor , she spearheaded an effort ; the result : Honorable Dr . Jean Augustine receiving an Honorary PhD ( 2009 ).
Over the years , she has been active in Community building including as an executive member , Grenada Nationals Association of Montreal ; Montreal Grenada Independence
