She was writer , editor and contributor to Montreal Community Contact , Canada Weekend Post and McGill Reporter . She was a member of the fundraising Foundation Board at Elizabeth House . Anne is a member of the Committee for Black History Month at McGill . In February 2019 , she was recognized for almost 40 years of service at McGill and for community service .
In 2018 , she delivered the Keynote Address “ On Whose Shoulders ” at Grenada ’ s 44th Anniversary of Independence event ( Montreal ) and made presentations to bursary recipients . The bursary program was inaugurated on October 2 , 1999 at a Celebration of Grenada ’ s Silver Jubilee at which Prime Minister Dr . Keith Mitchell was guest of honor . The event was the brainchild of Mr . Peter “ Uncle ” Charles , with Mr . John Cruickshank , President ; the bursary was initiated by Janice . More than twenty individuals have since benefitted from it .
Black Alumni Mentorship Program ; a member of SICDAQ and McGill ’ s HR Working Group to Address Anti-Black Racism .
Anne Janice is an ardent proponent of the merits of continuous education . She believes passionately in building bridges and helping others . She appreciates those on whose shoulders she has stood . She is thankful for her African Village including her mother , Margaret Farray James , hubby McDonald Joseph Clarke and extended families .
In 2020 , she was featured in the McGill Reporter ; the headline read : Anne Janice Farray : “ I learn every day ” … Reflecting upon her 40-years ( and counting ) career at McGill , looks at how both she and the University have evolved through the years .
In 2021 , Anne Janice was included amongst “ Caribbean women ’ s commentary on the appointment of V . P . Kamala Harris ” in Everybody ’ s ( New York ) Magazine , March 2021 special edition . She is a member of LOGOS Poetry Reading Group ; one of her poems will be featured in the 2021 issue of Kola Magazine . Some of her poetry were featured in Big Drum Nation ( an opinion piece ). She continues to be involved in community . Presently the Administrative Officer , Institute of Islamic Studies , McGill , she is a mentor in McGill
