They continue to showcase Grenada by participating in Canada Day Celebration , which they see as a perfect way to bridge Canadian and Caribbean cultures . During this event , Grenada is prominently showcased under a colourful tent accompanied by the island ' s colours , some carnival costumes , spices and souvenirs which is a testament to their attempts to publicly educate about Grenada and Grenadians . " These opportunities to interact and engage with the public , our neighbours , not only give us a chance to congregate and share stories but provides us with the chance to hear about people ' s travels to the islands and for some , curiosity about future trips ," said Monifa .
The annual Independence Banquet held in February is second to none and their signature Nutmeg Icecream is the most requested dessert at all of their events . A little taste of Grenada has made and left its mark !
" I would like to build a pathway for the next generation of Grenadians to become more involved in the organization ," Monifa expressed . " Having a Montreal-style annual Grenada Day celebration with Grenadian performers and other forms of entertainment is high on the list of things I will like to see happen in Vancouver ."
