Shavon John-Brown

Pro Football ( soccer ) Player

“ I am 27 year old Shavon John-Brown . I was born on April 13th 1995 in Montreal , Quebec , Canada to my Grenadian mom and my Jamaican father . I migrated to Grenada with my mom at a very young age and started playing football at the age of 3 in the village of River Sallee , St . Patrick ’ s . Throughout my youth I became more and more involved with football on a community level and in school . I became a member of the Hard Rock FC where I played from the academy right up to senior level and won many championships locally with my club . I attended the River Sallee Government Primary then went on to the Mc Donald College High School where I captained our school football team and went on to win a couple of school championships also .
Being eligible to represent the Grenada national football team because of my mother , I got my first national call up at the age of 13 for the national U15 team and as midfielder /
striker and later on went on to represent the U17 and U21 teams respectfully . At age 15 I got my first call up to be a part of Grenada Senior Men ’ s team , I was extremely excited
and honored to be given that opportunity at such a young age . My career didn ’ t stop
there , after graduating from high school I then migrated to the United States to live with my mom who had moved there . My mom has and continue to play a crucial part in my success , she motivates me , makes sacrifices to ensure I am on the right path and gives constructive unbiased criticism .
The move took some adjustment but with hard work and commitment I was able to attend Bryan and Stratton for two years , played football as a midfielder and also obtained my Associate Degree in Business . I then secured a football scholarship to attend a division two university , Alderson Broaddus for two years . I must say that my time spent at university was definitely my best experience
