Promoting Grenadian Products in Montreal At 2nd Daughter ' s graduation in New York - 2010 excellence . It shines through without having to promote oneself .
Q : We understand that you are now a business-person marketing and selling products and goods from your homeland Grenada . What motivated this ? How can one go about doing so ?
A : While growing up with my maternal grandparent ’ s home , my grandfather earned mainly from banana , cocoa and nutmeg farming . He also owned a shop in the village with my grandmother . When my father left for England in the early 60s , my mother , on becoming a single parent , used her creative skills to set up and build a sewing and boutique business , creating and selling her own designs . I was always surrounded with entrepreneurship and a strong sense of doing for self , not depending on others to survive and thrive . In addition to farming , my grandfather , from whom my mother learned her first sewing skills , was a well reputed , first-class tailor with a shop on Seaton James Street in Grenville . We were also recruited to assist him and learned at his hand . I have a very strong sense for supporting and promoting my homeland which I love and treasure , hence the reason for that aspect of my business .
