Grenada is also the only Caribbean island to export fresh soursop to the United States of America . Grenadian food relies greatly on fresh and organically grown local produce , spices , vegetable and ground provisions ; agriculture is at the heart of the people . For our tri-island state culinary tourism and agro-tourism are symbiotic as evidenced by the partnerships with international and regional agencies such as the Inter- American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture to implement the Climate Smart Agriculture and Rural Enterprise Program which aids in improving food security and nutrition .
Projects like these enhance access to markets and sale of produce from competitively selected farmers and fishermen to promote agricultural development throughout Grenada to ensure production , productivity and sustainability .
The GTA is set to market the destination to “ foodie travelers ” through further development of the island ’ s food tourism offerings , creating a high-quality and unique tourism product built on the natural attributes of the nation , the diversity of the local culture and the participation of the local communities .
