Dr . Kellon Bubb

Dr . Kellon Bubb is a Caribbean – American health communication scholar , and professor who is originally from the island of Grenada in the Caribbean . He is the son of workingclass parents who never had the privilege of attending high school , and grew up in the rural village of Pomme Rose , in St . David on the eastern side of the island . He also spent a considerable amount of time in the Town of St . George in the community of Grenville Street .
Upon graduating high school and community college from the Presentation Brothers College , and the TA Marryshow College , respectively , he entered the field of journalism . He first worked at the Grenadian Voice Newspaper , owned by the late Leslie Pierre and also had several stints at the Grenada Broadcasting Network and Community Channel 6 , respectively . Dr . Bubb then won a developing country scholarship from the Republic of China on Taiwan , where he completed his first degree in Media and
International Communications . While in Taiwan , he learnt to speak fluent Mandarin Chinese , and also served as a middle school and young adult teacher of English as a Second Language .
Bubb then immigrated to Brooklyn , New York where he engaged in community service in the Grenadian American community , and also taught English Language and Social Studies to middle school students in the public school system . He earned a Ph . D . in Communications , Culture , and Media Studies from Howard University with a Health Communication and Culture concentration in 2021 , and is now an Associate Professor of Media and Communications at Montgomery College in the Washington D . C . area .
His health communication research focus seeks to make sense of the health impacts of climate change on communities of color and developing countries in the global south . He
