Cultural Festival President Byron Cameron

Dear Readers ,
It is my greatest pleasure to again be addressing you in the third Special Edition of the Melange Travel and Lifestyle Magazine . On behalf of my entire Board of Directors and Committee Members , I want to offer my special thanks to Melange Travel and Lifestyle Magazine for their undying support and sponsorship of our Spice Island Cultural Day Association of Quebec and its Festival .
This year our theme for the Spice Island Cultural Festival , which takes place in Montreal from June 7-9 , is “ Grenada to the World ” and will showcase Grenada ’ s music , food , and culture . The Outdoor Festival which takes place on Saturday July 8 , from 1:00pm to 9:00 pm , at Vinet Park in Little Burgundy in downtown Montreal , will feature food from all over the Caribbean , including Grenada ’ s National Dish , Oil Down , Jamaica ’ s Jerk Chicken , St . Vincent Roast Breadfruit and Saltfish , Seafood , Lambi Waters , and everything else you can imagine from the 10 food vendors on site . Arts and craft vendors coming from Toronto , Montreal , and Grenada , with everything including paintings , clothing , jewellery and spices , will also be on hand to expose and sell their products .
Our 6th Anniversary promises to be a big post-covid celebration . The Grenada Ministry of Culture and the Grenada Tourism Authority ( GTA ) remain our major sponsors in this Festival , ensuring the Grenadian tourism factor is front and centre . The Canada Director of the GTA will be on site to showcase our beautiful Grenada , Carriacou and Petite Martinique , giving an insight into making Grenada their next travel destination for our guests . Coming to perform at the Festival , under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture , will be Soca star Lednek and the ever-popular Squeezy , who will join Toronto ’ s Calypsonian Flying Gaybo , local Calypsonian Doggies and many others . Dancers , singers , and children frolic will be the order of the day . My very special thanks to the Grenada Ministry of Culture and the GTA for their undying commitment to our Festival in Montreal .
I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to come with us to Grenada as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Grenada ’ s Independence .
