Grenada ’ s Young Athletes are making waves

The Grenada Amateur Swimming Association nominates Sara Dowden for Female swimmer for the female swimmer of the year .
Sara , a well-rounded athlete who has excelled in multiple sports has demonstrated her dominance in swimming . At age 15 Sara has achieved a B qualifying time for the PanAm Games in the 100M butterfly which is a first-time achievement by any female swimmer in Grenada .
In the long course metres she has achieved national records in the 100M Butterfly and the 400M Individual Medley . In short course metres she achieved national records in the 100M Butterfly . While in short course yards she achieved National records in the 200M freestyle , the 50M butterfly and the 200M Individual Medley .
At CCCAN a bronze medal was achieved in the 100M butterfly . Sara further stamped her authority with a solid performance at the just concluded OECS Championship where she set a new OECS record in the 13-14 100M Butterfly , while also swimming away with the Age Group title in the girls 13-14 category after attaining OECS- three ( 3 ) gold , five ( 5 ) silver and two ( 2 ) bronze .
Out of the five appearances at the OECS Championship Sara attained three ( 3 ) overall trophies to date .
