Lednek Soca & Dancehall Artiste
Kendel George ( born May 8th , 1989 ) professionally known as “ Lednek ” is a Grenadian Soca & Dancehall Artist . He was born in Woodlands St . George ’ s but raised in Westerhall St . David ’ s .
Lednek commenced his primary education at the South St . George Government School , his secondary education at the Grenada Boys Secondary School ( GBSS ) and Tertiary at the T . A . Marryshow Community College .
At age 13 he favoured artistes in the likes of Vybz Kartel , Beennie Man , and Bunji Garlin , studying their lyrics and later performing them for friends . By age 14 he resolved that he would become an artiste and thus commenced his journey of composing his own lyrics and participating in various street dances , clubs and stage competitions .
In 2012 , he recorded his first Dancehall single at YNV Studios “ Swagg Turn Up ” and in 2014 his first Soca single “ Leggo the Beast ”. He won his first Soca Crown in the 2014 Carnival Knock Out and subsequently his second crown at the St . David ’ s Soca Monarch in the year 2015 .
In 2016 , Lednek constructed a small studio and formed WestPoint Entertainment which includes three additional artistes along with Peck Jones the producer . WestPoint has since then extended to a Youth Club ( recruiting persons from the village of Westerhall ) which is actively involved in Sports and Charity .
Lednek looks forward to bringing his talent to Montreal for the first time to participate in the 6th annual Spice Island Cultural Festival .
