PIXAR ~ANIMATION STUDIOS~ Remember all the glorious animated films which we watched as a kid? Or which we still watch now? Have you, readers of the Spectrum magazine, ever wondered about how the animation studios which produced those films came to be? If you have, you came to the right page. From here onwards, this article is going to take you through an enchanted journey in which you will be learning about one of the most recognized, successful animation studios in the world: PIXAR. Founded on February 3rd, 1986, Pixar Animation Studios is an American computer-based animation film studio located in Emeryville, California. Keeping in mind that this studio is best known for its CGI-animated films, which are created with Photorealistic RenderMan, this studio has won countless of awards and acknowledgements. Such as twenty-seven Academy Awards, seven Golden Globes, and three Grammy Awards. Before Pixar was globally known as Pixar, back in 1979 they were just a graphics group, being a part of the computer division of Lucasfilm; until it was later acquired by the famous Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, in 1986. Until, going back through time to 2006, the Walt Disney company bought Pixar at a valuation of $7.4 billion, making Steve Jobs the largest shareholder of Disney. Being known and recognized for its feature, majestic films, here are some well-known examples of them: Toy Story 1, 2, and 3, A Bug’s Life, Monsters Inc 1 and 2, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars 1 and 2, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, Frozen, Brave, Inside Out, and Good Dinosaur. But, out of all of those astonishing films, Frozen is considered to be the best Disney animated feature film since the studio ever came to existence.
