TYRA BANKS TO LEAD NEW DAYTIME TALK SHOW NEW YORK (AP) — Tyra Banks will lead a new television show with a panel of experts talking about fashion, entertainment and other lifestyle topics starting next year. DisneyABC Domestic Television will distribute the daytime show to television stations across the country. It will be similar to “The View” or “The Talk” with a group of hosts, and Banks will be executive producer of the show along with being on the air. Other panelists were not named. The popular model is also the creator of the competition show “America’s Next Top Model,” which currently airs in 186 countries. The show, which doesn’t have a name yet, will “motivate people to improve and enhance their lives by providing cutting edge guidance.” TINA TURNER DENIES STROKE RUMORS R&B/rock legend Tina Turner has surfaced in order to put to rest the rumors that have been floating around for the past few months regarding her alleged stroke in February. According to the diva, who is known for her vivacity, she is in “excellent health” despite the fact that several Dutch and German publications claimed that the performer suffered the cardiovascular-related episode. Media sources report that Williams will headline a 70 minute standup show at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas on July 11. The event, part of the hotel’s “Lipshtick: The Perfect Shade of Stand Up” series. In addition to Williams, the series will feature real comediennes such as Loni Love, Caroline Rhea, Lisa Lampinelli, Joy Behar, Susan Essman, Jen Kirkman, Natasha Leggero, Wendy Liebman, Jennifer Coolidge, Heather McDonald, Rita Rudner, Iliza Schlesinger and Whitney Cummings. In May, the 49-year-old daytime personality revealed that she had already began “working on jokes” for her comedy debut. In addition, Williams shared some advice she received from Behar, which included her desire to have the theater cold and the patrons “liquored up” before her show. reported that she had suffered a stroke. It was reported that the songstress, who now lives in Switzerland with her husband of one year, Erwin Bach, a German music executive, fell ill and had to cancel her holiday to recover. German news source Express reported that Turner’s driver, Albert B. Cologne, confirmed the stroke, saying, “She had a mild stroke but is well on the road to recovery.” But according to the News.com.au, Turner claims she never had a driver named Cologne.
